Awakened Earth - Mirabai Ceiba complete

Markus and Angelika have renewed their musical collaboration with producer Jamshied Sharifi with Awakened Earth and like their previous album A Hundred Blessings you are invited to embark on a magical journey to the unknown worlds where music can take you.

Awakened Earth blossoms into ever brighter, wider and deeper spaces in the spectrum of spiritual music. Opened with the gripping, wonderful sound of the duduk, this album inspires throughout with its wonderful complexity. Angelika's sweet, caressing voice glides along weightlessly and complements Markus' soft and warm singing in a moving way.

This album is made a musical delight with the addition of some fantastic guest musicians: Yoed Nir on cello, Anders Boström on flute, Roubik Aroutiounian on duduk, and Megan Gould on her beautiful violin and viola. This unique musical enrichment finds the perfect platform through the keyboards, accordion and bass of multi-talented musician Jamshied, providing a rich, warm and relaxing sound throughout the album. Markus's guitar and Agelika's harp lovingly play around each other, and together with their two completely harmonizing voices they carry the unique sound of this CD.

Awakened Earth is already definitely one of our special picks! With this CD, Mirabai Ceiba have managed to make another huge leap forward in their musical quality. The track Go In Beauty in particular is a heart opener on cold, difficult days, and the entire music is so soul-soothing, uplifting and loving that one comes close to tears.
